Growing up I would watch my Grandma Pearl lovingly knit hats and socks for premature babies that she would then donate to the children’s hospital nearby. I remember the thoughtful way in which she would select her wool and gentle way that she would work together the tiny stitches. I was in awe of her magical ability to create these pieces for babies she would never meet.
It’s funny how images from your childhood are the building blocks for who you become later in life. Several years go, without realizing WHY, I felt an innate drive to teach myself to knit.
The first few weeks were frustrating and I was going to give up but with the help of my Mom and YT videos, I created my first toque!
And so the yet-to-be-named Pearl Project began…
